Welcome to my new blog about my metal clay lenses on Squidoo!
Many metal clay artists, teachers and newbies from around the world use and recommend my Squidoo metal clay lens series (which includes 17 metal clay lenses as of this writing!). I usually post on Facebook when I add a new lens to my metal clay articles series on Squidoo, and sometimes when I make major changes to a lens, but I don't usually post on FB if I've just added, say, one or two new texturing techniques to my lens on Metal Clay Textures, or if I edit a firing schedule on my BRONZclay bronze clay lens.
Squidoo used to let visitors become fans of lenses so they could be notified via a "Squidcast" whenever something noteworthy was added or changed to the lenses they subscribed to, but that feature was discontinued. So I decided to create my own blog about my Squidoo metal clay lenses so that anyone who wants to has an easy way to stay up-to-date when I add a new metal clay lens or make a noteworthy update to one of my existing lenses.
To keep this blog interesting and worth subscribing to, I'll also post highlights of noteworthy tips, tricks and techniques from my Squidoo metal clay lenses (and occasionally some that I haven't written a lens about yet).
You can subscribe to this blog via your favorite RSS reader or via e-mail, whichever you prefer. I hope you do, and I'd appreciate it very much if you would help me spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, etc. (I've added social sharing buttons to make it quick and convenient to do this.)
Please let me know what you think, if there are specific topics you'd like me to cover in future posts, or just leave a comment to say hi! :)
Thanks and happy claying,
Margaret

Way cool and informative post Margaret.I have visited your squidoo page. It's a cool one.I think Squidoo is a very good and smart way to bring traffic to a website. When a tag or lens is created in squidoo and it is ranked higher in google it will be the source of high pr dofollow link for a website. With Squidoo deep links can be made which will help a site’s search engine visibility and increase rankings to those deep pages. It is a known fact that links from authority sites are more valuable than links from non-authority sites. Squidoo is one such authority site, and helps to achieve a higher ranking. It is also possible to make extra money using Squidoo, which is one of most the highly visited websites with good search engine rankings. But there are a lot of link building firms which offer like Buy Squidoo Lense Creation in exchange of money.Should we rely on them or do it ourselves. What is your opinion about this fact?
ReplyDeleteHi Fahad, thanks for your comment! For myself, I would never entrust the creation of any of my lenses to someone else, because no one knows my subject matter better than I do, and because my lenses affect my reputation and my integrity, so I would never want to publish someone else's work as my own.
DeleteFor people who want to promote their products or expertise and who do not have the ability to write their own marketing materials effectively, I certainly can see how hiring someone to write one or more lenses for them might be a good strategy. I also can think of situations in which a company wants to give their prospects and customers non-product-specific, value added content and might hire someone to write lenses for them on specific lifestyle topics, for example.
As for purchasing pre-written lenses, as a marketer I would not rely on them unless they could be heavily tailored to my specific needs, in which case it probably would make sense simply to hire a lensmaster whose work I admire to write them for me from scratch.
